Yay - Obama won! Am looking forward to voting for Hillary in four years.

We went to Disneyland last night and there was this cute Frankenweenie exhibition for Tim Burton's new movie. We also tried out some new activities like this drawing lesson and doing voice overs for Disney movies and songs. It was hilarious because we replaced the dialogue and lyrics with our own "interpretations."
Yes, it's a bit racist and obscene, so view at your own discretion.

On the way back to the car, we stopped by the Lego store and there was this lego version of Hulk. Steven is a huge fan of Batman and all those comic book characters, so I suggested that we take a picture.
Woke up feeling bad, and now I can't go back to sleep. I'm really sad about my grandpa. I think it's mostly because of the last conversation we had together. He told me he wasn't used to not having grandma around. I borrowed a Japanese song book from him after reading the lyrics of one of the songs. He said to return it to him when I was done and I said I'll return it next week not knowing that that would be the last time we'd talk. Life is so fragile. One minute we're here and the next minute we're gone. What we do during our lifetime doesn't matter as long as we're living it alongside the friends and family we love.
It's actually not a very happy season. I found out this morning that my grandfather, who slipped and fell this past week, is in a coma and won't be waking up. I suppose they are pulling the plug on him this Wednesday. I was shocked and deeply saddened by the news. It's in close proximity to the death of my grandma though, so the pain will simply merge and fuse into the same body of grieving within my mind. I'm going to miss my grandfather, but in recent years, particularly after the death of my mom, they (my grandparents) just haven't really been the same.
Steven always sends me some interesting articles to read while he's at work.
Amsterdam turns 400 years old and looking at these pictures makes me miss the damn city and its stinky canals. If I could describe this city in one word it would be slutty. I think the combination of seawater, canal shit-water, booze, smoke, and other random industrial and cheesy smells makes this whole city smell like a dirty vagina. Not that it's a bad thing; it is still a beautiful city. I loved wandering around in it drunk off my ass in the middle of the night, teetering on my bike after a random party somewhere with random German girls and their random ecstasy pills. Hiding from this 19 year old Aruban drug dealer who, without at all asking me how I felt about it, announced that I "was his girlfriend." Or meeting up with a heavily neurotic Iranian-Dutch girl who would bring me to all of her artist friends' house parties where they'd roll cigarettes and talk about art and politics.

We went to Christina and Ron's wedding on Saturday. They had these cool photo booths from snappyjoe (?) and Steven turned into a pirate. I turned into a bear thing.
I think being in a relatively new relationship stresses my dad out. He keeps telling me "Elaine, no matter whether you are in a relationship or not, you have to protect yourself inside. Even with work, do not let people affect you too much emotionally." Easier said than done, but I guess he wants me to take precautionary measures and thicken my skin before anything bad happens or should happen. My aunt, on the other hand, is quite happy and says that she really likes Steven, even saying that "you should hurry and have kids with him!" which, of course, is not my primary life objective at the moment. She's only saying that because she has a bunch of grandkids of her own already from my cousins. I don't really think I need to have kids given that there are already over 1 billion Chinese people in the world. If I need a kid or kids, I'll just adopt some from China.
I don't think there's going to be much of a problem with Steven because he was initially a good friend before we got into a relationship. I already know he has a good heart, so I'm not paranoid or anything. In fact, if anything bad should happen, I think that it would be me to blame. I've already told him that I have a tendency to be grumpy and moody - particularly when I travel- so he has been dealing with that aspect of me that I don't normally expose to my friends.
Although, lately, I get into fits of seemingly uncontrollable anger from things like encountering aggressive drivers on the freeway, or just rude people in general. I feel a deep welling up inside my chest and sometimes I worry that one day I won't be able to keep it down and I'll snap violently at the perpetrator. I find that I have a lower tolerance for annoying people. I never really had this problem before - at least, it wasn't as noticeable as it is these days.
For example, the other day a drunk woman grabbed my shoulder to use me as some sort of crutch while she stumbled across a rope barrier. I got pretty mad because she didn't even say "excuse me" or "sorry" or anything of that sort. In fact, I felt like she was using me for that purpose because I was a short little Asian who happened to be at a convenient level for her to grab. I felt like kicking her down and kicking her in the face with my feet until her face was smashed in. But instead, I gave her a dirty look that went relatively unnoticed and turned away.
Derrick's birthday dinner on Friday, Grandma's funeral on Saturday morning - Steven came to the funeral and stayed with me throughout the whole thing, despite it being so long. I was pretty amazed. We had a vegetarian lunch with my family, then went to this really fun arcade place called K1 with Weiler, Derrick, and Tkwon, then had dinner with Steven's family at a chinese restaurant in Irvine.
Today we went to Emelia's, Eileen's daughter, birthday and Steven got to talk to Henry about Steven's cousin, who was Henry's high school friend. Seems like everyone's having babies. I don't really feel like having a baby for another few years though. I need to stabilize my own life first before I can start another. Steven dropped me off to Derrick and Tkwon, who went with Kristen and Anis for dinner, and we went back to Anis's place (with Amen and Mark) and watched part of a really weird movie called Bubba Ho-Tep, which is amazing and hilarious and weird. Steven got to catch part of it before we left, and we decided that we had to finish watching it another day.
